ML-1 is "Audio Output" ML-1M is "Meter (LCD) & Audio Output"

Both the ML-1 & ML-1M are exactly the same except the ML-1M has a meter. same size, same weight, same sound, same feel, same operation, no learning curve between units.

ML-1 & ML-1M Magnetic Locator -Size & Construction: Electronics compartment: 3- 1/2" x 4-1/2" ABS Injection Molded Plastic. Aluminum "Mono-tube" One-piece Handle & Sensor Tube with rubberized hand grip on the top (handle is part of the unit) & rubber tip on the bottom. 1-1/4"OD, 38-1/2" overall length. Electronics is Microprocessor based.

Color: Yellow with Blue lettering, black handle and protector tip.

LCD Meter & Real Speaker: LCD Meter on ML-1M contains bar graphs indicating both "+" & "-" Polarity with relative signal strength, Gain (sensitivity) setting, and a flashing battery icon when battery life is within last 5% (don't change yet, just carry a spare set). Real Magnet Speaker! Not an electric buzzer. Loudest unit on the market! The unit is so loud that you won't need a headset. want one anyway?. we'll install a jack just for you, at no charge!

Keypad Operation: No switches to break or knobs to fall off! Positive "click" keypad.

Battery Compartment: Integral Battery Box molded into the Electronics Case accessible through a battery door on the bottom side. Spring contacts allow easy insertion of batteries, no snaps or wires to break. "+" / "-" battery position indicators molded into the battery box. Unit automatically comes "ON" indicating confirmation of proper battery position.

Battery Type: Readily available 9-Volt Eveready Alkaline batteries are recommended. 2 Batteries required, and every unit is shipped with a free extra set (4 total).

Carrying Case: Soft-pack over-the-shoulder padded zippered case, with velcro-close internal storage pouch for Instruction Manual and spare batteries.
